7:42PM - 8 things i hate about people

1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time....I know where my watch is pal, where the hell is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?

2. People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the T.V. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.

3. When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". Damn right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

4. When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they? I'm going to kick their asses!

5. When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". No Loser, I paid $8 to come to the cinema and stare at the damn floor.

6. People who ask "Can I ask you a question?".... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?

7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it,
couldn't be new.

8. When people say "life is short". What the hell?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?

9:15AM - A real entry

Okay thought you might all like a real entry for anyone who reads my journal that I don't talk to on a regular basis.

In the last month a lot has happened.

My dad got married. The wedding was very nice. They had a harpist. It was outside at York park. Carissa was the flower girl. She was so funny. I got her to sit still to have her hair done by telling her she got to wear a princess dress. And she looked simply adorable in her princess dress. She was so funny when she was walking in at the wedding. She grabbed the front of her dress and hiked it up so she wouldn't step on it. It was hilarious too her in her little dress because the rehearsal went very smoothly but once she was in the flower girl dress she was all "look at me look at me". She kept walking up to the people in the front row and the wedding party saying "See my fancy dress". And at one point she tried to climb up Cheryl's dress. Oh well. Kids will be kids.

She didn't want to leave the reception cuz she was dancing. She loved the dance. Oh and get this . . . at the reception my dad and Cheryl had these M&Ms that said Mark & Cheryl on them. Shut up.

Let's see . . . then last Wednesday night Brent and I bought the house. Yay. We're homeowners. Joy joy. Brent has been working on the basement all month. So far he's framed my linen closet, half of the bedroom and half of the exercise room which all said and done means the center room (where brent thinks we'll put a pool table) is completely framed. Yay.

Oh and did I mention that the theater is coming right along? He's started to build the risers and he has his projector now and fabric he's using for a screen. How exciting.

Then last weekend was Lori's wedding. My ex-stepmom's wedding. Sounds kind of warped doesn't it. Brent didn't go with. He was feeling sick. But it was just beautiful. The ceremony was gorgeous. The music was perfect for the two of them. And her dress was to die for. It was off white with dark red trim and bead work. Oh she looked so glowing. And they were so cute about the whole thing. The night before Tim and Spencer stayed at a friend's house cuz the groom isn't supposed to see his bride before the wedding. I mean how adorable is that. And then Brooke and Spencer gave their mom away. Oh it was just . . . I'm so happy for them. They seem so truly happy.

That's about the jist of the big things I guess. Let's see . . . I don't know if this was in here before or not . . . Brent started working at Sanmina. He has such a cushy job. He gets paid to sit and talk to me online. Wish we were all that lucky huh. But he seems to like it there. And it's very flexible.

I've been quilting quilting quilting but what else is new. I'm still in the process of making a quilt for Brent's cousin Jennifer's little girl Vanessa. It's been on the back burner for a while. And I made a quilt for Dad and Cheryl. And then last week I made one for Tim and Lori. Now I'll be making a fleece quilt for Logan and a robe for Carissa. And I'm going to go to the fabric store with my aunt next week cuz she needs some stuff and doesn't know how to get there. Then I'll be working on one for Jasic. That's Dava and Jason Manning's little guy that was born last month and one for my friend Sean. He and his wife Linnea had a baby boy Elijah on Sept 27th so I'll be making one and shipping it to them.

Oh sidebar. How cool is this: Right before Logan was born I was in super quilting mode. I was on a roll and I'd been making baby boy quilts like crazy. So my aunt told me that her friend was having a baby girl and that they were moving back here from Egypt. They're both from WI originally. Well so I got a bug and made her this adorable little pink and purple baby quilt. Well now, they've moved back to Kyro, Egypt. So one of MY quilts is in Egypt. Isn't that fricken awesome!?

So the kids. Carissa is doing very well in dance class. As long as she can't see me. Then she doesn't do what she's supposed to. But it is awfully cute. And she's been helping Brent work on the basement. She goes down there with him and hands him tools. And she brings her own plastic tools down there to work on stuff. And in this process she's discovered the wonder of Barbie. She was down there while Brent was working one day and got into a box of my old toys that I'd saved for my kids and is just in love with making mommy and daddy change barbies clothes and shoes. She's so funny. And ever the spitfire.

Logan is crawling around like crazy. I can hardly keep up with him these days. He's everywhere. I've given up trying to confine him and just let him explore this level of the house as he wishes. The basement door stays shut and all dangerous things are put away and off he goes. Tough though to keep the dog food away from him.

Oh yeah. We got a new dog. She's four months old. She's housetrained (unless you fail to let her out after she's drank water or something *coughs* Brent). She's a purebred black and white Jack Russell Terrier (now called the Parson Russell Terrier) and she's so adorable. She's a lover. If Logan cries she'll go lick his face and then run to inform you "Timmy fell in the well" She's so worried about him. And she's got a great temprement. She lets the kids pull and tug on her and drag her around. She fits in here well. Oh and her name is Daphne.

Well that's about it I suppose for the happenings of the Meyer household for one month so toodle-oo.

12:49PM - How true . . .

My mom sent me this email and I found it rather amusing so I thought I'd share it with all of you.

A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry has revealed that the kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle.

For example: If she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine features. However, if she is menstruating, or menopausal, she tends to be more attracted to a man with a spear lodged in his chest and tape over his mouth while he is on fire.

No further studies are expected.

*Note: Yes I realize that my amusement seems a bit twisted but come on you can't tell me you haven't all felt this at some point . . . you know you think it's funny to so just laugh would ya?!

11:18AM - New Stuff

Okay I know it's been a while since I've updated. We were without internet for quite some time. Cable too . . . we finally hooked up tv internet and home phone. Cost us $206 just for the connection charges. Can't tell me that isn't ridiculous.

Now . . . we finally have internet and my dad is "borrowing" my laptop. He asked if he could use it for a week and has had it for like a month.

Let's see new stuff. Brent has accepted a job at Sanmina. Not really sure when he's starting yet but soon we hope and he's enjoying ABW in the mean time. That will be a computer type job thingy. Yeah I have no idea what he does for a living but that's okay. He does computer "stuff". So he'll be starting that soon.

Carissa is potty trained. I mean she'll still have that occasional accident. All kids do like when they can't get there fast enough or something but she's also not wetting the bed anymore either. Awesome huh? She is such a spitfire though. Oy the drama with this child. She fell down the stairs yesterday. Worry not she's fine but boy oh boy she is a klutz.

I guess I am too. I fell down the stairs yesterday too. I hurt really badly though. I think I pulled something in my back.

Anyway Carissa. She's decided she doesn't like her brother anymore. And she's become obsessed with peanut butter. I don't know. She changes every day it seems like. I guess kids grow fast though.

Logan is flying right up too. He's crawling all over the place. He always crawls into the bathroom. I don't know why. He gets mad every time he goes in there but crawls in there all the time anyway. All he does now is go go go. He follows me all over the place and he heads off on his own. He's become much more vocal. Blabbers on all the time. And we're eating #2 and #3 baby foods. He is and EATER! Funny . . . Carissa has always been such a stick and she's always eating but Logan . . . we weighed them both a week or so ago and Carissa is at 28 lbs and Logan weighs 20. Is that crazy or what?!

Nothing too much else to report here I suppose. I'm still doing a lot of quilting. I'm making a couple of wedding quilts and a baby quilt for Brent's cousin Jennifer. She had her baby Vanessa Lynn on August 26th. Kent and Michele had their baby too a week and a half ago, Christine Lila.

Oh yeah . . . speaking of babies and how fast kids grow . . . Logan is now six months and Carissa just turned three. Can you believe that . . . 3. Wow. Logan has two teeth and Carissa is in dance class. I wish I could possibly tell you how fast they grow.

Anyway . . . more later cuz Logan is crying and now I have to try to get my very painful ass out of this chair and get him.

Kisses.

8:19PM - the last month in a nutshell

So I don't have much time and I have a lot to update on. Though . . . I really don't because everyone who reads this pretty much talks to me so . . .

My life consists of chasing Carissa, taking care of Logan, quilting (gotta get one done in like 3 weeks - haven't even cut all the fabric yet -) and baking. I'm like a baking machine lately. My uncle Ty bought me a new mixer so I've been going to town. And he bought Logan a jumperoo yesterday. Can't WAIT until that gets here. Yay for free hands.

Brent is going to be starting at ABW and is going to slow down his search for computer-related job options. He says he's sick of trying. Sometimes men are so stupid. Grr. Oh well . . . at this point I guess a job is a job.

This last weekend was CL days. Fun for the most part. The parade got rained on . . . the garage sales were pretty good - a lot better than last year - and the drinking was a pretty good time. Especially Saturday. But hey . . . that's all a story for another day.

Oh and we went to Jake and Val's wedding on Saturday. Never been to a wedding quite like that. But I'm happy for them and can't wait to go to Justin and Jayne's.

Brent is enjoying his time off and becoming slightly ADD. The man can't sit still when he doesn't have something to actually do. That like has deadlines and stuff and is going to drive me crazy. He's technically still looking for a job but yeah read above for further information.

Carissa is doing very well potty training. She had her first wet pants in over a week yesterday and got awfully upset she didn't make it to the potty. She's loving living in the country.

Logan is doing well. He sleeps a 7 hour stretch roughly at night. He's starting to cut teeth and is a drool machine. He's so much fun now he coos and babbles and blows bubbles and is always moving a shaking.

I'm fine. Still searching for sanity . . .

Over and out.

9:37PM - Pulling out my hair

I am SO SICK OF PACKING! I HATE PACKING! And even better tomorrow I get to spend all day LOADING, UNLOADING, and UNPACKING! MOVING SUCKS! MUCH CAPS!

Well . . . spent part of the day helping Emy get numbers for apartments. Then, much packing. Yuck.

Now, watching the ER season finale and packing during commercials. Sucky.

Well I probably won't be updating for a few weeks until we get the internet at the house. So . . . love you all and see you then. Oh and feel free to shoot me emails from time to time . . . I'll check them at family's houses from time to time when I get a chance.

Later my loves.

11:40AM - Long day

Today will be a fun day filled with very enjoyable packing. Anyone sense the sarcasm there? I'm going to run over to OM pretty quick here and get some paper boxes for packing plates etc. Joy joy. I have to bring one of my customers some product too! Woo hoo! Anyone else need anything before I move? Let me know.

Then I'm going to run to Target and get a new shirt. Shh! Don't tell Brent! "Clothing is an unneccessary expense. Grr."

Then packing packing packing. Oh joy. Oh yeah . . . and I have to go get address change cards from the post office. Yipee!

Not too much else. Just that fun stuff. Later loves!

8:33AM - No sleep

There is no rest for the wicked I guess. I didn't sleep at all last night. First we were up late packing and then I just couldn't sleep and then Logan was all grunty.

On the upside of life Brent is bringing Carissa home with him today. Brian is going to watch her while Brent does his interview. Then they're spending the night up there so I only have the little man today. Oh joy for some peace. Not that it's completely peaceful with him here but at least he just wants food and is otherwise content.

Anyway . . . he wants food now so . . . toodles.

9:33PM - Amusing Joke

Three Italian nuns die and go to heaven. At the Pearly Gates, they are met by St. Peter. He says, "Sisters, you all led such exemplary lives that the Lord is granting you six months to go back to earth and be anyone you wish to be."

The first nun says, "I want to be Sophia Loren;" and *poof* she's gone.

The second says, "I want to be Madonna;" and *poof* she's gone.

The third says, "I want to be Sara Pipalini."

St. Peter looks perplexed. "Who?" he asks.

"Sara Pipalini;" replies the nun.

St. Peter shakes his head and says, "I'm sorry, but that name just doesn't ring a bell."

The nun then takes a newspaper out of her habit and hands it to St. Peter. He reads the paper and starts laughing. He hands it back to her and says......"No sister, the paper says it was the 'Sahara Pipeline' that was laid by 1,400 men in 6 months."

If you laughed, you are going straight to hell

1:38PM - Oops

I just noticed that I forgot to post a stupid ponder this question of the day for yesterday so here ya go . . .

When you open a bag of cotton balls, is the one on top meant to be thrown away?

1:34PM - Joke for today

A nice, calm and respectable lady went into the pharmacy, walked right up to the pharmacist, looked straight into his eyes, and said, "I would like to buy some cyanide."

The pharmacist asked, "Why in the world do you need cyanide?"

The lady replied "I need it to poison my husband."

The pharmacist's eyes got big and he exclaimed, "Lord have mercy! I can't give you cyanide to kill your husband! That's against the law! I'll lose my license! They'll throw both of us in jail! All kinds of bad things will happen. Absolutely not! You CANNOT have any cyanide!"

The lady reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist's wife. The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied, "Well now, that's different. You didn't tell me you had a prescription."

Which do you think would be the better way to die?

8:26PM - Long awaited update

Went home last weekend. Exhausting. Went out with Kayla Friday night . . . well into Saturday morning. It was a lot of fun. I love playing wingman! We got back to my house at 3:30 in the morning. Whoa! And get this . . . this old guy comes up and starts talking to us and he's . . . my high school guidance counselor's father-in-law. He was highly inebriated.

Got up at like 10:00 and had teenagers flooding my house already to get ready for prom. Did two sets of hair and four of makeup. I finally had peace at 5:00. Oof dah! Then Carissa wasn't feeling real well so I watched Memoirs of a Geisha while she slept. I'm not sure I'd recommend it. It was a good story but very drug out. Two and a half hours that could have easily been summed up in about an hour and a half. Oh well. Then a miserable rainy Sunday and home again.

This week ran to Walmart and got stuff for punch for this Sunday. Logan is being baptized and we're doing dinner at my mom's afterward. With say 40-50 people. Little crowd to say the least. Let's at least hope it's nice outside.

This weekend I'm going grocery shopping with my Uncle Ty. He's buying. He's way too nice to me. And then I'm getting Sara ready for prom. Then a nice full day of baptism stuff. Then I think Kent and Michele are going to come see the house. You know for being pregnant that woman sure works a lot. I mean she's even doing full days every other weekend. Such long weeks. I'd think she'd get worn out. Yeah but I suppose . . . gotta do what you gotta do.

Back to EC again after that and I can't decide yet if I'm going to go back up to CL next Saturday for a bridal shower or if I'm going to go to Brent's going away party for work down here. That starts at 9pm and I'm not just sure I could or would want to find a sitter for the kids at that time of night. Though I would like to hang out with the OM people one last time. Course I'd also like to go to the bridal shower since the bride is an old friend and she's getting married in NE so there's an extremely EXTREMELY good chance I won't be attending the wedding.

We'll see I guess. Gotta see too if my house is going to be empty by Saturday. Dad has some hunting buddies staying there for a couple of days next week.

Let's see . . . update on the kids. We finally officially got past the b.o.t.t.l.e thing. Praise the Lord! I thought we'd never get rid of those stupid things. My husband is such a pushover I thought he'd give in til she was in kindergarten. She's still working on that whole potty training thing. And . . . she's EVER the drama queen.

Logan is getting big. Almost 11 pounds now and two months old today. He's awake more now during the day. It's fun now that he's smiley and cooing and what not and Carissa is getting better and better with him. Put a new picture of Logan on here. Hope ya'll enjoy. Oh and sorry I've not been keeping up very well with updates. Busy packing and cleaning and such. Dumb ass landlord says he's going to start showing this place like next week. He can take a flying leap.

Em . . . did he cash your rent check for April?

Anyway . . . I suppose I should find something to eat and get back to packing crap up. Amazing isn't it how much junk accumulates in 3 years . . . lol.

Toodles loves!

1:25PM - hum

So not to terribly much has changed in the last couple of weeks. Logan is sleeping a bit better at night. I'd like to be getting MORE sleep but I'm afraid that there isn't much I can do about that.

I've done a lot of running. Back and forth from CL. We were up there for a few days for Easter. Easter was pretty good . . . though I must admit that I'm none too upset that there aren't more big family holidays to attend.

I'm going home again next week. Need to meet with the interim past or about Logan's baptism and then I'm getting Jessie and Brittany ready for prom. I do so love doing the prom stuff. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to come home between Wed and Sat. Kayla is going to be staying over here Thurs thru Sat me thinks. I would love to spend some time with her. We'll see what Brent thinks about all that.

He heard back from Midwest Manufacturing. NOT WORTH IT! He's applying at some schools and has posted his resume at another .com find a job place. Hopefully something good will happen soon.

Well, I gotta go clean up after Carissa's lunch. Messy little monkey!
